OUr history
The NASCAR Diversity Internship Program is now in its ninth year. The first eight years of our internship program have been highly successful in providing students with a variety of opportunities in the motorsports industry. Since its inception there have been several interns who have gained full-time employment opportunities within the NASCAR Industry. You can see some of their success stories highlighted in the alumni section.
Over 170 interns have participated since the Program’s inception in 2000.
The range of internship opportunities has grown from marketing and communications to event management and engineering. Other opportunities exist in the fields of public relations, technology, sales, licensing, broadcasting, and various other practice areas.
NASCAR’s Motorsports Industry Workforce Initiative, creates a pipeline for ethnically-diverse students to find full time opportunities within the NASCAR Industry. This program integrates our Wendell Scott Scholarship Program, Diversity Mentorship Program and the Diversity Internship Program. NDIP is an article component of this initiative.
