Currently Employed: FOX Speed Channel, Production Assistant
How did you get involved with NASCAR and the Internship Program?
What attracted me to the internship program was that there was an internship available within my major…TV Production.
What did you learn from your internship experience?
Coming into NDIP I had no clue about NASCAR…I didn’t even know who Jeff Gordon was! I was pretty bad! But since my internship and doing a lot of race logging, I can now recognized just about every driver by face… at least in the Cup Series. I’m still working on Busch and Trucks.
How is your present position rewarding?
My present position is rewarding because not only do I focus on NASCAR, but I also get involved in other series like: Formula One, Champ Car, NHRA, World Rally and more. I’m becoming a motor sports junkie!
I’m an Assignment Desk Production Assistant, and I assist with the production of a show called “The Speed Report”, my duties include logging races, preparing and labeling record tapes for the upcoming week, and every Sunday I help with the production of the show.
Quote: “If you were to ask me a year ago where I see myself working after college….NASCAR wouldn’t have even crossed my mind…but I’m glad it ended up this way because I’m doing what I love and gaining great experience at the same time. I can honestly say I’m learning from the best!”
